Firefighters bracing for extreme heat in at least 2 states
Residents of two states are being urged to brace themselves for a heatwave today ..
and to be prepared for severe to extreme bushfire conditions.
Temperatures are expected to soar to 42 degrees today in Victoria's northeast district
.. with fire authorities warning any fires in the area could be uncontrollable and fast
moving.
Other areas of concern are in the northern country .. north central and western ..
where bushfire chances are rated very high.
