CUOMO APOLOGIZES FOR 'FLIPPANT' DIG AT REPUBLICAN SENATOR.(Main)

The flap over Gov. Mario M. Cuomo's verbal dig at a western New York lawmaker has ended, with Cuomo saying, "I'm sorry if my remarks misled anyone."

Last week, Sen. John Daly, R- Lewiston, blasted Cuomo for suggesting that Daly privately asked him to spend more on certain pet projects while criticizing Cuomo as a "big spender."

Cuomo told the Buffalo News on Jan. 26 that Daly would criticize him but "then I look and find 11 letters in the file (from Daly) asking for more spending."
